Aristocrat Leisure Ltd, poker machine maker, released its FY 2009 results today. The company posted a net loss despite reporting a good second half of the year. The Sydney based company also gave the outlook for the coming fiscal 2010. Aristocrat expects a tough year in 2010.

The company said that the net loss in FY 2009 was mainly due to impairments announced in the first half and the tough conditions across all markets.

In the full year 2009, Aristocrat posted a net loss of A$157.84 million, while the company had reported a profit of A$101.21 million in 2008. The company posted loss before interest and tax of A$193.97 million in the year. In FY 2009, the revenues were also reported decreased by 15.9% and were posted A$908.65 million.

In the year 2010, Aristocrat faced some challenging conditions across all major markets, with operators highly cautious about capital expenditure. Also the limited new venue openings in North America and other markets affected the revenues in 2009 according to the company. The company also expects that 2010 would be another tough year for the company as it would have to face the challenging market conditions.
