Apple updates Apple Store app to version 2.4; adds Siri integration, gift cards
Apple recently updated its Apple Store app to version 2.4, in which the company has introduced some attractive perks such as a more advanced Siri integration as well as the ability to send gift cards through the iOS 6 Passbook app.
With the recently-announced Apple Store app update - which will work on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch - to integrate Siri into the app, users will henceforth be able to seek Siri's help in checking out the prices and shopping for Apple wares.
In other words, the Siri integration in the Apple Store app implies that whenever the users ask Apple's Siri virtual assistant about the pricing, details and availability of a particular Apple product, Siri opens the app directly to the dedicated page for the product.
Meanwhile, the other notable addition to the updated Apple Store app, the gift card feature, works in such a way that users are allowed to purchase gift cards and send them to their friends and relatives with the help of the iOS' Passbook app, which marks Apple's attempts at a digital wallet.
However, according to a report from The Next Web, users can seemingly not avail the gift cards advantage, probably because the features is still to be made live by Apple; and, as of now, there is no official disclosure about when the gift-giving service will be activated by the company.
