Apple says vast majority of OS X users unaffected by 'Shellshock' bug
Washington, Sep 27 - Following growing fear over the new Bash bug known as " Shellshock", Apple said that majority of the Mac users remained unaffected by the security flaw.
An Apple spokesperson said in a statement to iMore that the vast majority of OS X users are not at risk to recently reported Bash vulnerabilities.
He said that while Bash, a Unix command shell and language included in OS X, has a weakness that could allow unauthorized users to remotely gain control of vulnerable systems, with OS X, systems Mac systems were safe by default and not exposed to remote exploits of bash unless users configure advanced Unix services , The Verge reports.
He further said that the company was working to quickly provide a software update for its advanced Unix users. (ANI)
