Technology giant, Apple might be planning to release the next generation of its iOS software, the iOS 5 until October 10, according to several reports circulating on the internet.

The Next Web said that a number of upcoming Twitter developer events indicate that the new platform will be released on or before October 10. These events will focus on the integration of Twitter into Apple's upcoming iOS 5 software, according to the website.

The first such event will take place on in London on the 10th, and the second is in New York on the 12th. However, it is pointed out that the event is not limited to Apple Developer program members and will not include a confidentiality agreement. These new dates are in line with earlier predictions about a possible launch in mid-October by Apple of iOS 5 and the iPhone 5 smartphone.

Meanwhile, An AllThingsD reports that Apple has selected the Town Hall Auditorium for the launch of the iPhone 5 on October 4. The venue is surprisingly smaller than the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where the iPhone 4 was launched.

Some reports said that the company will showcase the new device at its campus in Cupertino, California. Separately, some reports suggest that Apple is not allowing its employees to take leave on the second week of October suggesting a possible launch date.
