Apple announces major updates to mobile operating system at WWDCTechnology giant, Apple has announced a host of new feature for its mobile operating system at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, in order to attract new users and compete better with the rival Android platform from Google.

The new just-released iOS 6 beta comes with 200 new features for the users including Faster Bluetooth toggling, Do Not Disturb and Privacy options. The platform will also offer a new map system wit h 3-D imaging and voice-assisted, turn-by-turn navigation might soon replace rival Google's Google Maps on iPhone and iPad users.

The move would be a huge setback for Google as Apple users account for about a half of the users of Google Maps on mobile devices. The two companies are increasing trying to compete with each other in various segments.

Apple has also upgraded Siri to turn it into a full digital assistance. Even as the company also launched the new MacBook Pro, with a shiny new high-definition screen, the new iOS 6 beta is expected to hog all the limelight at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference this year.
