American Cancer Society Searching for Teams to Participate in Relay For Life of Hunterdon County Event

The American Cancer Society is looking for teams from businesses, schools, families, places of worship, and more with an aim to take part in the Relay For Life of Hunterdon County event.

The event is scheduled to take place on June 13-14 at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington. Relay For Life teams are dedicated to end the fight against cancer and also to raise funds in order to back the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission. It is a community-based event that involves teams and individuals to set up campsites at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path.

Every team has minimum one participant on the track at all times. Last year, more than three million participated in about 6,000 events worldwide. About 544 people participated in Hunterdon in 2014 and they raised more than $66,000 in order to help the Society's mission to end the fight against cancer once and for all.

"The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all", said Judy Tutela, Hunterdon's volunteer Relay For Life event lead.

Tutela also said that various participants are their family friends, and neighbors who have faced cancer themselves. Every new team that take part help to save more lives, said Tutela. If teams and individuals want to be part of this event they can sign up for the Relay For Life event by visiting www. relayforlife. org/hunterdonnj or by calling at 800-227-2345.
