Al-Qaida likens Obama to Bush in 9/11 anniversary video releaseNew York, Sep. 23 : Al-Qaida marked the eighth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington with a video message in which it predicted that Barack Obama would be brought down by the Muslims.

In a two-part, 106-minute tape recorded in Arabic and released on militant websites, Osama bin Laden''s right hand man, Ayman al-Zawahri, likened the US president to his predecessor.

"America has come in a new, hypocritical face. Smiling at us, but stabbing us with the same dagger that Bush used," said Zawahri.

"God willing, your end will be at the hands of the Muslim nation, so that the world and history will be free of your crimes and lies," The Guardian quoted him, as saying further.

According to the Site Institute, a group that monitors extremist websites, the video, titled The West and the Dark Tunnel, was made by the media arm of al-Qaida, as-Sahab. Although Bin Laden does not feature, several key members of the leadership do.

In addition to Zawahri there is Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, Attiya Allah and Abu Yahya al-Libi.

An American convert to Islam, Adam Gadahn, known as Azzam the American, also appears prominently.

The footage includes a long section on US prisons and torture facilities. Part of it features what appears to be a US national torturing an Afghan prisoner by dunking his head into a bucket of water. (ANI)
