All You Should Know about American Heart Month
Americans are celebrating February as Heart Month to protect women from the life-threatening heart disease that doesn’t discriminate. The American Heart Association has been working to eliminate the issue since 1997 which is the leading killers of women.
The US non-profit organization launched Go Red For Women to educated women about heart disease and its consequence. Through the move, the association fought for 12 years to tell women how risk of heart disease can be eliminated. In additions, the Go Red For Women helped women by providing them tools necessary to live a healthy life.
The motive of the movement is to educate people, especially women, that heart disease is not only linked to men. Cardiovascular diseases like stroke, vascular diseases kill one third of women every year, means more than 401,000 women deaths annually. But, good thing is that over 80% cardiac events of women can be eliminated by taking healthy decisions for heart.
In the US, many centers are going to participate in American Heart Month to save women from heart diseases. Many people in different US states will take part in ‘Go Red For Women’ event by wearing red. Indiana people will be part of the cause, National Wear Day, on February 5. Here, people will wear red on the day to mark their presence in the fight against heart disease and stroke in women.
The American Heart Association has appealed people to show their support for Go Red For Women. The movement will not only give a positive message to the world, but also mark a step to improve women’s heart health and save lives, the association said. Many local sites in northern Nevada have decided to light the entire month for the noble cause.
