Alabama Woman gives birth to Baby without Nose

It has been reported that a baby came into this world without nose in Alabama. According to ABC News, Eli Thompson was born healthy on March 4.

Mother Brandi McGlathery said that Eli exhibited no signs of additional abnormalities. When she came to know that her baby was born without nose, she was shocked and upset. The baby should make use of a tracheostomy, a tube that will assist him in breathing.

McGlathery and her family have taken training in controlling her child's equipment, and they received CPR training. Presently, the baby is healthy and parents of the Eli are getting ready to bring him home from the hospital. For the first time, Mother saw her baby when doctors cut the umbilical cord.

"I pulled back and said, 'Something's wrong!' And the doctor said, 'No, he's perfectly fine.' Then I shouted, 'He doesn't have a nose!’ said McGlathery.

The baby was shifted to USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital and after that mother went the next day to be with her baby. Doctor of her went through every test and ultrasound but nothing unusual has been found in her records. McGlathery should keep a watch on her baby at all times as the baby does not make noise when he cries, because of the tracheotomy.

According to experts, the chances of being born with congenital arhinia are one in 197 million. After McGlathery came to know about other mothers of children having the same condition, she began to feel better about his survival. McGlathery said they will do their best to ensure that the baby is happy.
