Akshay Kumar Gets Honorary Doctorate Degree
Ace Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree by the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada for his priceless work in film industry and also for his outstanding social work.
The 40-year old actor is not only the Indian ambassador for the Special Olympics and he has also helped raise money for Trillium Health Care Centre in Mississauga and the Vancouver Children's Hospital.
Now Akshay has joined the list of honorary doctorate personalities such as Yash Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Shilpa Shetty, who were conferred similar kind of honorary doctorates from foreign Universities in the past.
Akshay, who looked very nervous while accepting the degree at the ceremonial occasion, said, “Wow! This really is one of the most nerve-racking days of my life. My hands are shaking.”
He feel proud and said, “I don't think even an Oscar would mean as much as this means to me.”
The chapel was crammed with Akki fans and one lucky fan got a hug from him, “I feel amazing. I had this feeling in my heart. Oh, my God, oh, my God,” she said.
The star and now doctor was sure to be grateful the people he felt deserved the accolade, “Indians believe that our success lies at the feet of our parents. It's not I who should be receiving this award, but my parents.”
