After Angiography, PM Discharged From Hospital
After undergoing a coronary angiography, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) today morning.
Dr. Singh was taken to India’s premier state-run medical facility on Wednesday after he complained of chest pain.
Following this, doctors took decision to carry out heart-related examinations.
Deepak Sandhu, principal information officer, “Yes, the prime minister is back.”
But, she refused to give any further details.
Earlier Tuesday, the 76-year-old prime minister visited AIIMS for a thorough medical check-up and came back home.
Mr. D.K. Sharma, AIIMS Medical Superintendent, said that the PM had come for a check-up that was conducted by a group of doctors from different disciplines.
Mr. Manmohan cancelled his visit to Kolkata, scheduled for Wednesday, to attend the Asiatic Society's post-bicentennial silver jubilee celebrations and inaugurate the 150th foundation day of St Xavier's College and Collegiate School.
Dr. Singh had undergone a minor surgery in October 2005, to ease the pressure on a nerve in his right wrist.
In September 2007, he underwent a surgery for benign enlargement of the prostate gland.
