Affleck pokes fun at Jolie’s credentials for UN ambassadorship
Washington, Dec 19 : Hollywood actor Ben Affleck thinks that Angelina Jolie does not have the power to be an ambassador for the United Nations.
The `Glory Daze' actor jovially stated at the press conference for his short flick `Gimme Shelter', which highlights the plight of families in war-torn Congo, that Angelina is not high profile enough to grab the attention.
"UNHCR has to find a goodwill ambassador who will get the attention of the president because the woman they''ve got is not high profile enough," US Weekly quoted Ben, as saying.
The `Gia' actress, who has been the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees goodwill ambassador since early 2001, has worked with field staff and met with refugees in more than 20 countries.
On the other hand, the brawny actor has been trying to use his celebrity power to enlighten the public about important global causes.
"One of the things about being an actor is that I''ve had the opportunity to be exposed to really smart people," Ben said.
"People have been really generous. I expose myself to those people and say, ''Help me learn about this,'' and I''ve given myself a great post-graduate experience in this arena," he added. (ANI)
