Senior BJP leader, L. K. Advani promised to introduce a bill for creating a separate Telengana state within 100 days if the National Democratic Alliance was voted back to power.

"We will do that within 100 days of forming the Govt," Advani said.

Addressing a huge public meeting as part of the BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ at the Parade Grounds in Hyderabad he said, "BJP has always favoured smaller States for effective administration." Telangana would have become a reality had the parties, now supporting the cause, backed the NDA then, Advani added.

At the same time, Advani criticized the left parties severely. He cautioned the political parties of Andhra Pradesh supporting the Telangana Rastra not to believe the Left as “the Communists could betray you anytime.”

He also criticized the UPA government saying that “The UPA has failed on all fronts. This is a government that will go down in history for its betrayal of the common man for five long years."

The BJP leader expressed hope that Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi would support the cause of Telangana.
