Adapt IT records 52% rise in revenuesSouth African IT services provider, Adapt IT has recorded an increase of 52 per cent in revenues to R 140.1 million during the half year period to December.

The company said that its headline earnings per share increased 35 per cent to 8.35c during the six month period till December, 2012. Adapt IT said that the rise was mainly due to increased demand for its software products and services in the education and manufacturing sectors. The education sector contributed to 41per cent, mining and manufacturing 43 per cent and financial services 16 per cent of the total revenue of the firm.

CEO Sbu Shabalala said, "Our consistent growth and good results are products of our long-term strategy that aims to deliver sustainable returns to shareholders by focusing on a combination of organic and acquisitive growth."

The company had recently acquired, Swicon360, which added R10m in turnover during the six month period. The company said that the takeover was effective from October and is worth R11.7 million. Shabalala added that the integration process on on-going as planned. He said that Swicon360 will add expertise in SAP technology and solutions to Adapt IT group.

The shares of the company increased 8.57 per cent to close at R1.90 on Monday.
