 Acer Announces Special Offer; ‘Aspire One’ At Rs 14,499! A new offer is in the offing from the world’s largest PC maker, Acer!

On its complete range of netbooks, Acer has announced its new limited period special offer from January 9 to January 20, 2009.

After this declaration, the world’s most-demanding netbook, Acer Aspire One will be available at just Rs 14,499.

For its Aspire One netbook Linux edition, the company has also announced a special price of just Rs 14,499, while the Windows XP Home version will be priced at Rs 16,499. Both these prices are excluding taxes.

Mr. S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, stated, “Acer has always believed in bringing the benefits of mobile computing closer to the common man. With this initiative, I have no doubt that we will make the dream getting onto the mobile computing bandwagon a reality for millions of our country men.”

“We strongly believe that our strategy will help Acer emerge stronger in the PC market. We can make the dream of a PC in every home a reality and this initiate is a small step to test out the waters in that direction,” Mr. Rajendran added.

Available in five colors including black, sapphire blue, pink, white and brown, the Aspire One is a modish, sleek and portable device that features an LCD size of 8.9-inch, and an ergonomically designed keyboard, which is 89% of the full size.

Weighing less than 1 kg, Aspire one comes with an LED back-lit display with 1024x600 pixel resolution, the latest Intel Atom processor technology, Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP Home, integrated Web cam and 802.11b/g WiFi.

The netbook also has 1GB of RAM memory installed with up to 160 GB of HDD and its 3-cell battery can power the netbook for up to 3 hours on a single charge.

The company also said that the announcement of this special scheme will surely assist the Indian industry by cutting down the cost of computing in a recessionary environment.
