A $50 million contract has been won by CSC from the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy Inc. It basically runs NASA’s Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore. 

The contract will last for three years, under which, Falls Church-based CSC will keep on extending support to NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope with the help of mission preparation; development and maintenance of ground systems; computer network and database operations; education and public outreach; and scientific research among other support services. 

Tom Anderson, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Civil Division, informed through a statement, “For more than 45 years, CSC has supported numerous NASA missions for exploration of our solar system and beyond.”

There are two three-option included in the agreement in order to renew the work. If all options are exercised, the total contract value comes up to $50 million. 

CSC, which has nearly 90,000 employees, reported 17.1 billion in revenue for the 12 months ended July 4, 2008.
