2 More H1N1 Deaths In Chandigarh
In a shocking development, a 2-month-old baby and a 45-year-old woman have lost their lives owing to the deadly H1N1 virus in Chandigarh.
Out of 2 new swine flu deaths, Baby Harshit hailed from Mohali, while Kamlesh was the resident of Panchkula town in Haryana.
Health functionaries of the respective regions have been told to isolate the relatives or other people, who have had come in contact with them.
Earlier, Kamlesh was admitted to a Panchkula General Hospital for a kidney problem. But, later she was referred to the PGI after she developed H1N1 symptoms.
With a decline in temperature, health functionaries are worried about the spread of the lethal virus. The last one week has witnessed 10 fatalities and 25 new positive cases in Chandigarh.
Mr. G. C. Bansal, officiating nodal officer for swine flu in Chandigarh, stated, "With a decline in mercury levels, people are becoming more prone to swine flu. However, there is no need to panic."
According to the reports, eleven persons have been tested positive for the flu.
Of the 11 cases, 3 are from Chandigarh, 3 from Panchkula and the remaining from Punjab.
