17 employees including union leader sacked over strike

Air-India-StrikeIf the problems of the troubled airline carrier Air India weren't enough; the recent strike by its employees has come as almost a shocker for the state company.

However, reacting to it in quick succession, the company has terminated the services of its 17 employees, including union leaders who led the 33-hour strike in Air India. In fact, 17 of its engineers have also been suspended in the same matter, according to Arvind Jadhav, CMD, Air India.

Moreover Jadhav also pointed out the fact that the strike was an illegal action by the union and the company has bring down a heavy hand after the high court passed an order on restraining the agitators from continuing their stir. Jadhav also highlighted the fact that the government wants NACIL to become an accountable, disciplined and professional organisation.

It is believed that it will take two more days for the national carrier to bring normalcy into its process as it has long backlog orders due to which it will be operating 78 flights in a day.

Jadhav also said that the wages paid to the workers strictly need to be linked with the accountability and productivity.
