Yahoo is all about making the world's everyday habits inspiring as well as entertaining, the Internet search giant's chief executive officer Marissa Mayer said during her keynote presentation at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Mayer added that there were few places as inspiring as well as entertaining as the CES, and that they were working to re-imagine Yahoo's core businesses across various fields, such as search, communications and media.
Speaking on the topic, she said, Mayer said, "We have been hard at work re-imagining Yahoo's core businesses across search, communications, media and video - all powered by two powerful platforms, Flickr and Tumblr."
Announcements at the show included the launch of a Yahoo News digest app that has been designed to deliver concise, personalized summaries of world events twice daily to mobile devices, such as smartphones.
Nick D'Aloisio, product manager at the Internet firm said "Yahoo News Digest, provide users with simplified news and solves the predicament of information overload.
According to Mayer, Yahoo had more than 400 million mobile monthly users late last year; while as many as 800 million people were using Yahoo monthly overall worldwide.
