Winona Ryder in "good health" after falling ill on plane

London  - Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was briefly taken to a London clinic Wednesday after falling ill on a flight from Los Angeles but left hospital in "good health" shortly afterwards, her publicist said Wednesday.

"She did fall ill on a plane and as a precautionary measure they took her to a hospital. She has already been released from hospital. She was there for an hour. She's in good health. There's no drama," said Mara Buxbaum.

The 37-year-old actress was on a British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London when she fell ill and was treated by medics before being taken to Hillingdon Hospital near London's Heathrow airport.

BA said the captain of the Boeing 747-400 on which Ryder was travelling had requested a priority landing at noon Wednesday.

The airline said the crew looked after Ryder as much as they could while on board. No further details about the nature of her illness were given.

Ryder, who started acting when she was a teenager, has starred in a series of acclaimed films including Martin Scorseses' "The Age of Innocence," "The Crucible," "The House of Spirits," "Mermaids," Girl, Interrupted" and "Edward Scissorhands." (dpa)
