What Do Working Mothers Want?

It is an open fact that today we are living in the world of high pace and cut throat competition. Many of our institutions have undergone a change with the moving times. The most important institution of family seems to have suffered the most. This is truer for the families where both father and mother are working and thus are unable to devote time to their children.

A recent research which was conducted on 2000 parents with the children of the age of 10 or younger, by the UKfamily.co.uk, Disney’s new parenting site; has found some shocking facts about the state of the working mothers, who have young children under seven.

The result of the research has revealed that about two-thirds of working mothers would like quit their job, so that they can give as much as time to their young children. 62% of mothers who work as either full-time or part time and have children under the age of seven want to leave their jobs.

The results have further revealed that 84% of parents feel “physically worn-out”, while other 68% feel “exhausted” and “emotionally detrained.” 57% of parents feel that there is not much time left for the normal family life given the tight and tiring schedule of their jobs, while eight out of ten mothers surveyed said that they had less than an hour left for themselves in a day.

General Manager of UKfamily.co.uk Dani Zur feels that the present era is the hardest time for the Motherhood. In the tough and high competitive world, both parents need to work to provide the best to their children.

“We feel guilty about everything - the amount of time we spend at work, the lack of time we have to play with our children and the amount of time our kids spend in childcare,” said Suzy Greaves, Life Coach of UKfamily.co.uk.

Greaves also said that tiring and tough jobs of the mothers’ leaves them with no energy to interact and spend valuable time with their children.
