The World Gold Council (WGC) has said that it has tied with India Post and Reliance Money to offer a 7 per cent discount on different denominations of gold coins in the country during the festive season of Akshaya Tritiya.

The gold coins will be available with discount from 970 post offices to mark the auspicious occasion of the Akshaya Tritiya festival next week. India Post will offer discount on gold coins of different denominations on occasion of the `Akshaya Tritiya' festival, which is considered auspicious for buying the shiny metal in India. The festival of Akshaya Tritiya is celebrates as day to welcome prosperity by people in different regions of the country. People usually purchase gold this day as it is conserved a symbol of prosperity in the country.

"The World Gold Council, in partnership with India Post and Reliance Money, is offering consumers a price reduction of 7 per cent on daily prices for the purchase of gold coins from India Post offices to celebrate the festival of Akshaya Tritiya," WGC said in a statement.

The discount will be applicable on gold coins of denominations of 0.5 gram, one, two, five, eight, 20 and 50 grams. WGC India said in a statement that the offer will be valid until June 30.
