Wasim Akram’s wife Huma passes away

Chennai, October 25 : Huma wife of former Pakistan cricket skipper Wasim Akram, passed away here on Sunday after suffering multiple organ failure.

On Tuesday, Huma, 42, was admitted to Apollo Hospital here after the air ambulance carrying her to Singapore from Lahore made an emergency landing for refueling at the Chennai International Airport.

According to sources, Huma suffered a cardiac arrest and slipped to emergency condition while on board, following which the Pakistani doctors accompanying her suggested to admit Huma to a hospital.

According to Hospital sources, Huma was put on ventilator support.

A trained medical practitioner, Huma had a stint with some of the leading hospitals in Pakistan as a psychologist and a Hypnotherapist.

Akram was married to Huma for 14 years and the couple has two sons, Taimur and Akbar. (ANI)
