UTV Ropes In British Telecom To Carry UTV Movies In US
UTV Network has roped in British Telecom's media and broadcasting division for distributing its flagship Hindi movie channel, 'UTV Movies' in the US market.
In United States, UTV Movies was introduced on the DirecTV DTH Platform on March 18, 2009.
A separate feed of UTV Movies, tailored for the US market, is being played out of India and is delivered via BT's Global Media Network.
Shantonu Aditya, UTV Global Broadcasting Ltd executive director, said, "For today's broadcasters the big business opportunity is to leverage the best means to take advantage of globalisation. We are confident that the BT network is not only reliable and resilient but will also provide the additional benefits of cost effectiveness and point-to-multipoint connectivity, giving us more flexibility to expand our services going forward."
BT's Global Media Network offers safe connectivity, connecting all the different phases of the media ecosystem, from production to distribution.
Moreover the communications solutions provider has also inked a similar pact with NDTV for distributing its business and lifestyle channels, NDTV Profit and NDTV Good Times.
In India, UTV has five channels, which includes Bindass, Bindass Movies, World Movies, UTV Movies and UTVi.
