US, North Korea to hold talks in December
Seoul, Nov 9 : The US and North Korea will hold talks in December, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported Monday citing a senior official here.
"The bilateral meeting appears most likely to be held after the Thanksgiving holiday, which falls Nov 25-29," the official said requesting anonymity.
The US State Department is likely to announce the details of the meeting such as date and venue by Tuesday, the report said.
Washington originally planned to hold the talks with Pyongyang Nov 20-24, but the meeting was rescheduled due to US President Barack Obama's trip to Asia ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Xinhua reported.
Obama will discuss the North Korean issue with his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak in Seoul Nov 19.
US experts from the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) will also visit Pyongyang Nov 21-24, media reports said.(IANS)
