US Intelligence chief Dennis Blair resigns
Mr. Dennis Blair the national intelligence director of US president Barack Obama has resigned after a 16 months long security failures in a series. He has said that he had already told the president about this resignation which will be into effect on Friday.
In his working period there were number of attacks like Christmas day bomb plot, Fort Hood shooting and the New York's Times Square car bomb plot.
On Thursday Mr. Obama said he was grateful to Mr. Blair for his leadership and remarkable records. Obama has said that he has worked very effectively at a time of great challenges to the security of the country.
The problem for him began at the Christmas bomb plot and finally he was criticized when the report of the Senate Intelligence Committee gave the report of systematic failure of intelligence in all across the country.
Several eligible and strong candidates were interviewed for that post. Mr. Blair is an ex-US Navy admiral and joined as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in 2009 January. This post DNI was created after the 9/11 attack in 2001.
