Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey hopes to run for mayor of New York City

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey hopes to run for mayor of New York CityDuring the course of a conversation for CBS’ 60 Minutes show, for a segment which was telecast on Sunday, popular microblogging site Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey said that he hopes to run for mayor of New York City.

Going by a CNN report, Dorsey – who also talked about his favorite place to go to think, as well as his greatest weakness – is apparently mulling plans to leave San Francisco home and shift to New York City.

In case Dorsey, 36, actually shifts to New York City, it will not be his first move to the city. During his college years, Dorsey – who reportedly has a net worth of over $1 billion - attended the New York University; and the first job that he got was at a dispatching company close to the university.

According to Vanity fair, Dorsey’s plans to run for mayor of New York City is not anything new too, since it underscores his plans to go with the recent call by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian that there should be "more geeks in Congress" and other public offices.

Noting that he loves “the electricity” that he feels when he is in New York City, Dorsey said during the interview that the city is “chaos”; and added: “It's kind of like being in a car in the middle of a thunderstorm. Everything is raging around you, but you're safe inside that car. So New York feels very much to me like that."
