Transfer Of Gokarna Temple To Mutt Unconstitutional

The news of the de-notification of the Mahabaleshwara temple in Gokarna and its Transfer Of Gokarna Temple To Mutt Unconstitutionalreins handed over to the Ramachandrapura Mutt is sheer proof of hanky panky by the state government. The high Court has issued a notice to the state revenue secretary and Uttara Kannada DC challenging the transfer of the management of the temple to the Ramachandrapura Mutt. The Public Interest Litigation was filed by two devotees of the temple namely M S Murulidhara and N G Prakash.

The duo pleaded that the de-notification of the temple by the Religious and Endowment Department from its list was unconstitutional and they had no right to hand over the reins of the temple to the mutt. They further pleaded that such a step had been taken by the state government for political gains and to please certain influential devotees.

In another development, the Jayanagar Citizens Recreation Association have filed a petition against the police, demanding the procurement of licenses for running skill games. In an earlier order the court had upheld that such licenses are not needed.

In yet another case Shoba Rani Naik and Mareppa Naik have filed a petition challenging the authorities about widening of roads at Gulbarga. The petitioners have pleaded that the road construction has started and demolition of various buildings along the road has begun without any compensation to the property owners

The HC has issued notices to the RGUHS and Garden City College of Physiotherapy for not allowing a student J Kavitha to sit in the exams this year. The Petitioner J Kavitha has stated that she was failed purposely in the practical exams, as a result of which she is being exempted from giving the exam.
