Toyota’s UK production plant to shut down operations next month

Toyota’s UK production plant to shut down operations next monthToyota Corolla is going to face a formal investigation in US for the complaints raised against the recent edition of the vehicle. The auto major will shut down its UK production plant in the coming month. As a result of which, 3,500 workers are going to sit idle.

The decision came from the company as a result of a collapse in its car sales. At the same time there were consumer concerns over the safety of the vehicles in a very much similar way of US.

So the Japanese company's management is facing a real bad time now. The announcement came in a dramatic situation when a lawsuit was filed in the Manhattan Federal Court alleging that Prius hybrids have defective headlights that shut off at "random intervals". And after that the company's reputation took a nasty blow yesterday.

But to everyone's surprise, Toyota has admitted the fault immediately as it had received number of complaints from its customers. Toyota brand value is having serious threat right now. Toyota blamed the failures on the bulbs denying that there was no fault in the electrical system. But there was more bad news for the Japanese Company as sales of it vehicles dipped worldwide.
