Toyota on Hiring Spree, Plans To Rope in 1,500 by 2012It’s good news for the aspiring professionals of India as the Japanese car-maker Toyota has announced its plans to recruit as many as 1, 500 people by 2012 in order to make sure that the expansion plans of the company are being fully supported by a skilled workforce.

Even there is high possibility that temporary workers would be roped in while the hiring would be done.

It was reported that the Company in collaboration with its partner Kirloskar Group would be injecting 1,650 crore in Indian market so as to escalate its production capacity to as much as one lakh units.

However, the nature of the professions to be considered for various positions keeping the expansion plans in mind is yet to be finalized.

As of now, the Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has nearly 4,500 employees across its two units in Bangalore, out of which, a significant 70% are being positioned under permanent employment with the Company.

It was confirmed, by TKM Deputy Managing Director (Commercial) Shekar Viswanathan, that by 2012, the Company is considering the option to ramp up the production of its first unit to 1,00,000 units from 90,000 units, while the other one is expected to churn out 2,10,000 units from its earlier 1,20,000 units.
