Ten-day strike at Hyundai manufacturing facility ended
Hyundai Motor India has announced that the 10-day strike by a section of employees at its Sriperumbudur-based manufacturing facility has finally ended.
A section of employees at the auto giant's Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility had been on strike since 30th of October, pressing the company for numerous demands, including reinstatement of sacked employees.
The company said in a statement that, in presence of Commissioner of Labour B Chandra Mohan, the agitating workers had been asked to call off the illegal strike unconditionally and go back to work from 9th of November.
The company also declared that employees involved in the strike would not be paid for time they abstained from work.
The statement released by the auto giant read, "The principle of no work no pay will apply to all workers who abstained from work during the said period and the workers have been advised not to indulge in any work disruption in the future."
The company has agreed to annul the suspension of the twenty suspended employees, but also declared that domestic investigation would be initiated against five suspended workers.
Hyundai Motor India's Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility produces more than six lakh units per annum.
