Technology can help India fight back various issues: says AmbaniEmbracing new technology can help India fight back several key issues it is facing in various important segments, industrialist Mukesh Ambani suggested.

Mr. Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd., said that India, which aspires to be a superpower, is facing issues in education, livelihood and health.

Speaking on topic, he said, "To my mind education, livelihood - the ability to earn today- and health are the three most important things before the country . Take broadband technology - it is providing access to opportunities irrespective of geographies."

He was speaking at a discussion on the topic of `Re-imagining India: Unlocking the Potential of Asia's Next Superpower'.

He stressed that there was no other option for India but to rely on technology to solve its problems. He said even energy problems could be solved utilizing technology. Heavy imports of oil and gas account for bulk of the country's huge current account deficit. But, he added that educating 250 million young Indians was a pre-requisite to solve these issues.

According to Forbes magazine, Mukesh Ambani is India's richest person, with estimated assets of around $22.6 billion.
