TCS to start new development campus in Kerala
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest software firm has said that it will be opening up a new learning and development center in Thiruvananthanpuram (Trivandrum) in Kerala.
The new campus is going to have a capacity to suffice 10,000 professionals who are going to be trained by the company in the latest technological advancement. The company has been known for its cutting-edge HR practices and this step is one of them.
For the same, TCS is going to invest close to 1,000 crore rupees and will be covering an area of 82 acres under the building. Construction of the same is going to begin in 2011 and is expected to get over by 2014.
Talking about this, Tata Consultancy Services Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director N Chandrasekaran said, "The 10,000-seat campus will set the global benchmark for corporate learning institutions in terms of physical infrastructure available, as well as the holistic professional and personal development programmes that will be available."
The city has been chosen by TCS since it is one of the newest destinations to have come up in the field of IT.
