Tata Consultancy Services, largest IT services provider in India, has received a deal from Volkswagen Group UK.

Under the contract, TCS would provide IT transformation and support services to Volkswagen Group UK for next five years.

TCS will leverage its Global Network Delivery Model in order to supply onshore as well as offshore IT support services for the Volkswagen Group's operations all through UK and across the brands including Audi, SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

Moreover, TCS will assist the group in its business transformation programme to meet up its aim to sell more cars, parts and cut costs.

The company will support all brands within the Group as they move consolidated, standardized business platform, enabling geographic mobility of Volkswagen Group UK employees, increased flexibility, and cost reduction.

This is the first time Volkswagen has carried out an onshore-offshore model for its IT systems.

At 11:29 am, TCS shares were quoting at Rs 630, down Rs 7.5. The shares touched an intraday high of Rs 645 and an intraday low of Rs 625.

They were trading with volumes of 148,912 shares. Yesterday, the shares closed up 3.57% or Rs 21.95 at Rs 637.50.
