TCS Receives $200 Mn Deal From Mexico

TCS_logoTata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s biggest software exporter, has received a $200-million contract from Social Security Institute of Mexico (IMSS). The deal would be spread over four years.

IMSS, which runs pensions, public health and social security for the Mexico government covers up more than 50 million Mexican citizens.

Under the deal, TCS will supply end to end IT services to the Mexican company.

N Chandrasekharan, COO, TCS said, “We see the Latin American market to churn revenue of about $250 million deal. I see it as a billion dollar market in making in the next few years. The emerging markets as a whole with Latin America, China and India are a multi billion dollar opportunity in five years horizon.”

The recent deal will work as a booster for TCS that has been concentrating progressively on rising markets such as Latin America to spread across non US geographies.

“There are more deals in the pipeline like Pichincha, Chili government of $70 million and this one has kicked in with Mexican government. The momentum is good in Banking and Financial Services Industry, and e-governance. We expect quite a few deals from the region going forward,” Mr. Chadrasekharan added
