Manmohan Singh discharged from AIIMSNew Delhi, Jan 22 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was discharged this morning from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he underwent angiography as part of a series of heart-related tests.

Dr K S Reddy, his personal physician, who is heading a multi-disciplinary medical team, said, "The Prime Minister has been discharged. He is hale and hearty and has gone back home.

"Periodic evaluation of his medical status is done as a matter of routine and diagnostic tests are performed," Reddy added.

Dr. Singh underwent angiography as part of a series of heart-related tests at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Daily Times reports.

He was declared fit by his doctor at AIIMS, but he is expected to resume work only after a couple of days.

After Angiography, PM Discharged From Hospital After undergoing a coronary angiography, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) today morning.

Dr. Singh was taken to India’s premier state-run medical facility on Wednesday after he complained of chest pain.

Following this, doctors took decision to carry out heart-related examinations.

Deepak Sandhu, principal information officer, “Yes, the prime minister is back.”

But, she refused to give any further details.

Indian trooper shoots six colleaguesNew Delhi  - Security forces in India's north-eastern state of Manipur have launched a large-scale manhunt for a paramilitary trooper who shot dead six of his colleagues, news reports said Thursday.

The unnamed trooper had an argument with an officer late Wednesday after which he picked up an assault rifle and fired at him, the IANS news agency quoted a defence spokesman, Major Shamser Jung, as saying.

When other colleagues rushed to the spot the trooper fired at them as well. The officer and five other troopers were killed on the spot, Jung said. At least two troopers were critically injured.

35 million rural poor got employment in last two years: Raghuvansh Prasad Singh
