High alert in Kashmir ahead of general electionsSrinagar/New Delhi, Mar 28 : In the wake of upcoming elections to the Lok Sabha and recent instances of infiltration bids by the anti-national forces, a high alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir.

Paramilitary forces have started intense patrolling and taken up adequate security measures through deployment of armed personnel to prevent any militant attacks in Srinagar.

A five-day gun battle in Kashmir between militants and the Indian army has raised security concerns before the elections.

Crooks land in jail after group mate seeks cops’ help to retrieve loot!New Delhi, March 28 : A group of four crooks was arrested by the Chinese police when one of its members sought cops' help, following a fight over money after the robbers had looted a woman.

They robbed the woman on a street in Nanbu county, Sichuan province, of 160 yuan (23 dollars).

Given that one of the thieves, surnamed Li, wanted to keep all the money, a fight between the group members ensued.

The other three crooks then beat him, and stole the money from him.

On Friday, Varun Gandhi withdrew his anticipatory bail application from the Delhi High Court. The court had granted him anticipatory bail on March 20.

Varun took the decision to withdraw the bail application after the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday rejected his petition seeking quashing of two FIRs registered against him for his speeches in Pilibhit on March 7 and 8.
