New Delhi, Jan. 22 : The Centre has approved three port projects on public private partnership (PPP) basis for the construction of container terminal at two ports in coastal Tamil Nadu and a coal terminal in Goa.
The Public Private Partnership Approval Committee (PPPAC) under the Finance Ministry had approved these three projects of Department of Shipping at its 22nd meeting on January 13.

Satyam had diverted billions of rupees from the company and inflated
the number of employees to withdraw cash, a public prosecutor said
Thursday according to news reports.
The prosecutor made the comments during a hearing of the police's
request for extension of custody of Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju and
the company's former chief financial officer Vadlamani Srinivas in a
court in the southern city of Hyderabad, PTI news agency reported.
New Delhi - India and Germany agreed on intensifying police cooperation in the wake of the Mumbai bombings, a senior German official said Thursday.
Several new measures were agreed upon "in the framework of our future closer cooperation," said Joerg Ziercke, president of Germany's federal police agency (BKA), in New Delhi.
The measures include regular exchange of information on terror threats, anti-terrorism legislation and technologies used by terrorists. The BKA was also to set up six-month training courses for Indian police officers in Germany.
New Delhi, Jan 22 : Minister of State in the Prime Minister''s Office, Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, disclosed on Thursday that five new atomic reactors are being set up in the country to enhance power production.
The sites have been chosen and the proposal will shortly go the Union Cabinet for approval, he added.
He also revealed that the Government has entered into civil nuclear power agreements with Russia, France and the United States of America.
Planning emphasis on the Indo-US nuclear deal, he said efforts to get nuclear fuel for the reactors is continuing.
New Delhi, Jan 22, : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is expected to go through a cardiac bypass procedure soon, after facing extensive medical tests at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
One of the source told that PM may have to undergo a fresh angioplasty or a bypass surgery in the next few weeks.
Though, Doctors attending to the Dr. Singh made it clear that he did not face any medical emergency.
Dr. Singh is a diabetic and has been controlling the condition with medicines and exercise like regular walking.
New Delhi, Jan 22 : Concerned over the increasing number of child trafficking cases, the Delhi High Court on Thursday ordered senior police officials to investigate the case and present the results by Friday.
A division bench of Chief Justice AP Shah and Justice Sanjeev Khanna said, "This is a very serious matter and needs to be investigated by a senior level officer of the Delhi police".
The court heard Public Interest Litigation filed by the NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan blamed the placement agencies for the illegal trafficking of girls and advised compulsory registration of all such agencies.
