Islamabad, Mar. 27 : At least 70 persons have been reportedly killed and 100 other injured when a suicide bomber blew himself at a mosque in Jamrud on Friday.

According to The News, the attacker entered the mosque which was crowded with over three hundred people offering Friday prayers, and blew himself killing scores of people on the spot.

"It appears to be a suicide attack in which over 70 worshippers could have been killed and over 100 others wounded," Khyber Agency Political Agent Tariq Hayat Khan said.

Lahore, Mar. 27 : Female commandos of Pakistan's Elite Force have alleged that their administrative staff is forcing them to work in place of their male colleagues, who are often on vacation.

The female commandos said that the moharrars (administrative staff), who were bribed by male commandos for showing them on duty, deputed female commandos for VVIP security, motorcades, escorts, point duties and patrolling despite the legal provisions.

Islamabad, Mar. 27 : US President Barack Obama telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday to discuss mutual cooperation and the situation in the South Asian region.

Obama and Zardari spoke about the "Friends of Democratic Pakistan" forum initiative, aimed at promoting and strengthening democracy in Pakistan, The Nation reports.

The two leaders also discussed the matters relating to fight against militancy, with particular reference to peace in the region.

Lahore, Mar. 27 : Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar may have announced that he is fully fit to be a part of the national squad, but coach Intikhab Alam has made it clear that Akhtar still needs to prove his fitness ahead of the one-day series against Australia in the UAE.

Karachi, Mar. 27 : The management of the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) has warned that it will not hesitate to sue Pakistan middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf if he opts out of his present contract to resume his international cricket career with Pakistan.

According to ICL sources, Yousuf will be dragged to court if he bids adieu to the league without consulting the ICL management.

The ICL fears that Yousuf’s exit could incite other Lahore Badshah players like Abdul Razzaq, Imran Farhat, Imran Nazir, Mohammad Sami and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan to follow suit.

Karachi, Mar. 27 : Pakistan People’s Party leaders are concerned about the security of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is currently in Pakistan to attend the joint session of the Parliament and the death anniversary of his late grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Bilawal Bhutto has been moving across the country publicly leaving people quite surprised.

He was spotted shopping in the Clifton and Defence area, and also stepped out of his bulletproof vehicle in Larkana to buy fruits from a local stall.
