Islamabad, Aug 13 : The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has declared an “open war” against the Pakistan Army in response to its offensives in the tribal areas.
The TTP said that it staged a bombing that destroyed a Pakistan air force truck and killed up to 14 people, including a child.
“It is an open war between us and them,” said Pakistani Taliban spokesman Maulvi Omar.
“If these kinds of operations continue against us in Swat and in the tribal areas, we will continue this,” he added.
Karachi, Aug 13: The resolution for the impeachment of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, which was moved this morning in the Sindh Assembly, has been approved unanimously.
The resolution was boycotted by the opposition and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members.
The Punjab and the North West Frontier Province assembly on Monday voted overwhelmingly in favour of Musharraf’s impeachment.
Karachi - Pakistan's ruling coalition on Wednesday dealt another blow to embattled President Pervez Musharraf as a third provincial assembly demanded his impeachment.
The 168-member assembly of the southern province of Sindh unanimously passed a resolution that demanded a vote of confidence on Musharraf in the presidential electoral college or his resignation. If neither happens, the president should be impeached by Parliament, it said.
The legislators chanted slogans of "Go, Musharraf, go!" during the session.
Karachi - The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday weakened to an all-time low of 76 against the US dollar amid political tension and mounting economic uncertainties, traders said.
The rupee closed at 75.50/76 (buying/selling) against the dollar in the open market while the inter-bank exchange rate also slipped to a record low of 75/75.20.
"The political turmoil and directionless economic situation is creating pressure on the rupee," said Nabeel Iqbal, head of research at Khanani and Kalia, the country's largest private foreign exchange firm.

The Washington Post quoted Gistaro as further saying that Osama bin Laden continues to enjoy a haven in areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, and has managed to deepen alliances with a wide range of Islamist groups from South Asia to the Middle East.
