Islamabad, May 16 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari have decided that PPP will not bring new ministers in place of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ministers, who resigned due to differences over the framework of the restoration of the sacked judges.
“I will speak to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and persuade him to withdraw the resignations of his party’s minister in the national interest,” the Daily Times quoted Zardari, as saying.
Lahore, May 15 : An election tribunal on Thursday accepted the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif to contest election from NA-123.
The tribunal also accepted the nomination papers of PML-N covering candidate Hamza Shahbaz, The News reported.
The nomination papers of Nawaz Sharif were rejected during the general elections.
Meanwhile, the hearing of objections against nomination papers of Shahbaz Sharif was adjourned.
Talking to media, the lawyer of Nawaz Sharif said that the court has turned down the objections.
