Karachi, Nov 14 : Amid signals emerging from India that it might not send its cricket team to Pakistan to play a series early next year due to “security reasons”, the PCB has said that it was willing to host the series at a neutral offshore venue.

The series, including ODIs, Tests and a Twenty20 game, is scheduled for January 4 to February 19.

Islamabad  - An airstrike by a US drone killed at least 10 people Friday in Pakistan's Waziristan tribal region, a known hub of al-Qaeda and Taliban militants, Pakistani officials said.

The pre-dawn attack in north-western Pakistan targeted a militant hideout in the remote Shabikhel area, 75 kilometres west of Miranshah, North Waziristan's main town, they said.

"Initial reports reaching us say at least 10 people have been killed and several others wounded," a security official said on the condition of anonymity.

Islamabad, Nov 14 : Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik has reportedly said that his country was “not averse” to US President-elect Barack Obama using his good offices to settle the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan.

He said Pakistan had no objection to a third party’s involvement in resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

Islamabad, Nov 14 : If official figures are to be believed, on an average one woman is killed for honour every day in Pakistan, as a total of 1019 women were killed during the past three years in the country.

According to crime-against-women statistics revealed in the country’s National Assembly last evening, more than 7000 cases of rape and murders of women were registered between 2005 and 2007.

Lahore, Nov 14 : A top cop in Gujranwala town in Pakistan has reportedly directed the local cablewallahs not to air Indian entertainment channel “Star Plus” because programmes running on this channel hurt conservative or religious sentiments.

But, the cable operators have complained against the move saying that their business largely depended on this particular channel, as it was immensely popular in Pakistani households.
