Tomb guard who helped bury Saddam’s body says it had six stab wounds

Lahore, Nov 2 : The dead body of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein who was executed around two years ago, was stabbed at least six times (after being executed), the head guard at the former president’s tomb in north of Baghdad has claimed. The guard was one of the 300 persons who helped bury the corpse.

“There were six stab wounds on his body. Four of the wounds were on the former president’s front and two on his back,” Pakistani daily the Daily Times quoted Talal Misrab (45), the head guard, as saying in an interview with The Times.

He also said there was an injury to his face, and that 300 other people witnessed the injuries when the body was buried in the early hours of the morning, the day after Saddam was executed.

Cricket will be destroyed if foreign teams don’t tour Pakistan: Younus Khan

Younus Khan Sydney, Nov 1 : Senior batsman of Pakistan cricket team Younus Khan has said that cricket in Pakistan would be destroyed if foreign team do not tour the country.

In an interview to an Australian newspaper, Younus Khan said that Australia did not tour Pakistan since 1998 for security reasons.

They refused to participate in an important event like the Champions Trophy and insisted to shift the series to neutral grounds.

These decisions are going to be causes of destruction of cricket in Pakistan.

Intikhab prefers domestic cricket to dull paced camps for Pak team

Islamabad, Nov 1 : Pakistan’s new cricket coach Intikhab Alam has said that playing top level domestic cricket is more important than dull paced camps.

He plans to prepare the national probables for the important Indian series following the same line.

Intikhab said that the forthcoming Test series against India would be an important one and there was no better way to prepare for the series than to put the probables into competitive cricket.

Pakistan’s Samaa TV quoted investigators as saying that the suspects arrested after the suicide attack in Islamabad belonged to the HUJI’s Saifullah group.

Amnesty International calls on Pak to set right its poor human rights record

Amnesty International’s Asia-Pacific Director, Sam Zarifi said, “The new civilian government which replaced Musharraf has taken some steps to improve on Pakistan’s poor human rights record, but it could and should do more, starting immediately with declaring the 2007 dismissal of judges illegal.”
