FBI team visits Kasab’s village

FBIWashington, Jan 1 : A US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) team has visited Faridkot in Paklistan is Pujab province the ancestral village of Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist arrested for his role in the Mumbai terror attacks.

The team, headed by the FBI's director William Robert, visited Faridkot to investigate Kasab''s link with Pakistan, the Dawn reports.

Refusing to comment on the report, FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said, "We are unable to provide details of what is being done."

"Could be. I am not saying more than that because we don''t have... I hate to say this, we don''t have proof," The Daily Times quoted Durrani, telling a private television channel.

Zardari assured Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Fazlur Rehman that anyone involved in the Mumbai attacks would be punished in Pakistan and not be extradited to India.

66 Pakistani Prisoners Go Home

66 Pakistani Prisoners Go HomeIndia today set free 66 Pakistani prisoners which included 28 women and four children, as a New Year gift despite the tensions escalating between the two countries after the Mumbai terror attacks.

Of the 66, 51 were from the Rajasthan and Gujarat jails, 14 from Amritsar Central Jail and one from Tihar Jail, Delhi. High Commission official accompanied the prisoners to Pakistan.
