Kuala Lumpur, December 3 : Shahrukh Khan could not contain his excitement after the ‘humbling experience’ of being awarded a Datukship by the state of Malacca.
The Bollywood megastar, who had apologised for not being able to fly down to Malaysia to receive the honour owning to his tight schedule and faltering health, said he couldn’t be thankful enough for the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) which carries the title “Datuk”.

During a night-time raid at a house in the northern Penang state, police detained one woman aged in her 40s along with an assortment of drugs and firearms.
Police seized four pistols, 64 rounds of ammunition, 9.1 kilogrammes of heroin base, 6.4 kilogrammes of heroin as well as cannabis, ketamine and caffeine, said state police chief Wira Ayub Yaakob.
Kuala Lumpur, Dec. 2 : An initial probe into the Mumbai attacks has not uncovered any links to Malaysia, said consul-general in Mumbai, Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah.
He said the Indian authorities had denied newspaper reports that the terrorists had used Malaysian travel documents and credit cards.
This was revealed to the consul-general by senior police investigators but there is still no official statement from the Indian government on this so-called link.
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said Tuesday that disaster prevention efforts were insufficient in most Asian nations, and warned that countries ill-equipped to handle disasters would face increasingly high economic losses.
"It is acknowledged that not all disasters can be prevented, but their impact and all the underlying risks can be reduced," Najib, who is also Malaysia's finance minister, said at an Asian conference on disaster-risk reduction.
"Neverthless, such efforts have never been sufficient," he was quoted as saying by the official Bernama news agency.
