Tata Nano becoming the rich-man's luxury While the small wonder, Tata Nano was expected to fill in the dreams of several Indian consumers of buying a car but what has happened over the past few months is, it is being used by the people at the middle and top of the pyramid to ensure a comfortable drive.

Keeping in mind the high fuel efficiency, low maintenance cost and ease to drive, the Tata Nano is surely matching the requirements of people who face jams in reaching to office daily. S P Shah, director-general, Federation of Automobile Dealers’ Association said that he is waiting for the bookings to be reopened as he finds it a trouble to drive his Honda City on congested roads.

In fact, according to the Tata Motors dealers, close to 60-80% of the Nano buyers are such that already own one or two cars in their kitty and hence use Nano for their daily use.

Clearly, the motive of buying is very different and hence it is surely catching the fancy of a very large base of consumers. It is believed that Bajaj's upcoming small car will soon join the Nano party as well.
