Tata Motors appoints ex- Samsung official as president of PCBUIndian auto giant Tata Motors has announced the appointment of ex-Samsung official Ranjit Yadav as the president of its Passenger Car Business Unit (PCBU).

Announcing the appointment, Tata Motors Managing Director Karl Slym said that Mr. Yadav's profound experience in leading a highly customer-centric business would help Tata in evolving its passenger vehicles business.

Speaking on the topic, Slym said, "Ranjit Yadav's experience of leading a highly customer-centric business will bring in the outside-in perspective that we need to further evolve our Passenger Vehicles business."

Prior to joining Tata Motors, Mr. Yadav was the chief of Samsung India's Mobile & IT Businesses division, where he played a crucial role in turning the South Korean electronics giant into India's leading mobile phone seller.

Previously, Mr. Yadav served at Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific, Philips Electronics Co. and Pond's India Ltd.

As per the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) report, Tata Motors enjoyed a jump of 8 per cent in sales in April-August period of current year.

Tata Motors also announced the appointment of ex- Volkswagen official Neeraj Garg as a vice president (commercial) for its Passenger Car Business Unit. Mr. Garg has replaced Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, who has been shifted to corresponding role in the Commercial Vehicles Business Unit.
