Suzlon Energy Declares First Half Results
Suzlon Energy has declared results for the first six months period, ended September 30, 2007.
At the company’s board meeting held on October 23 2007, the company’s directors have given approval to increase its incorporated worldwide manufacturing capabilities for wind turbines and parts thereof by extra 3000 MW to 5700 MW in order to accommodate the rising market share and demand.
The company said, “We have, as on date, an order book position of Rs. 16,328.04 Crores comprising of Rs. 1988.88 Crores of domestic orders and Rs. 14,339.16 Crores of export orders.”
For the first half ended September 30, 2007, the company has announced consolidated net sales of Rs. 558592 lacs , as against Rs. 315591 lacs in the same period of the last year (Sep 30, 2006). Net profit for the said period stood at Rs. 41359 lacs for the first half of the recent year from Rs. 33064 lacs for the half year ending on Sep 30, 2006.
Suzlon Energy, through its wholly owned division, AE-Rotor Holding B.V., The Netherlands, has bought 100% of the share capital of Eve Holding NV, Belgium in May last year (2006) for a consideration of Rs 2,502.64 crore. Through this acquirement, the company has 100 per cent ownership of Hansen Transmissions International NV, Belgium together with its arms that are engaged in the business of design, development, manufacturing and supply of industrial and wind gearboxes.
Through its wholly owned arm, the company has also bought 33.65% stake in REpower Systems AG for a consideration of about Euro 453 million and at the same time also has voting pooling contracts with Areva and Martifer who in aggregate hold around 53.25 % on June 06, 2007, the date of final settlement of the takeover offer.
The company’s board has projected to split up the equity shares of the face value of Rs 10 each in to equity shares with a face value of Rs 2 per share, subject to approval of members.
