Sun Pharma records net profit of Rs. 44 croreSun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC) has recorded a net profit of Rs. 44 crore during the fourth quarter from January to March, 2013 mainly due to a strong growth in operational income.

The company has said that the company a loss of Rs. 21.6 crore in the previous year. The company has said that its income from operations rose to Rs. 72 crore during the quarter compared to Rs. 4.22 crore during the same quarter of the previous year. The company’s TTM EPS was recorded at Rs -0.41 per share as of March, 2013.

“Income from operations rose 1602% to Rs. 71.83 crore in the quarter ended March 2013 as against Rs. 4.22 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2012,” SPARC said in a statement.

The latest book value of the company is Rs 5.56 per share while the price-to-book value of the company was 26.82. The shares of the company had touched an intraday high of Rs 157.40 and an intraday low of Rs. 148.25.

The shares of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company rose 3.29 per cent and were trading at Rs 149.10 The shares had touched its highest in 52 week on 14 May, 2013.
