Study: High Levels Of Testosterone Makes Men And Women More Attractive
A new study has revealed, that high levels of testosterone in Men and women, makes them more attracted, towards feminine faces and masculine men respectively.
Study included, a series of tests, involving 70 women and 30 men, and their testosterone levels were measured on each occasion. Study also revealed that the attitude and choices changed, depending on the level of the testosterone in body.
Participants were shown pairs of masculine and feminine faces for a month. They were asked about which version of the same face was most attractive. To measure testosterone levels, participant’s saliva was taken.
Participants were shown photos of the opposite sex and the same sex, which revealed, that high testosterone levels made no difference to men in terms of the males, they rated as attractive. However, women (with high testosterone) found masculine women attractive. Dr Jones explained that this may also have been, because they felt "more negative" about attractive women at the time.
Dr Ben Jones (psychology lecturer, Aberdeen University) claimed that high testosterone levels consistently prompted people to choose "high quality" mates. It’s also being said that, masculine men and feminine females are thought to produce healthy children.
Now, researchers are focusing on the study, to find the role of voices and odour in sexual attraction. The facial attractiveness test, is available online at www.faceresearch.org
